Institutional Services
A dedicated investment office for endowments, foundations, nonprofits, and other institutions — without building one in-house.
Rubric serves as an Outsourced Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) for institutional clients, taking on the day-to-day work of managing an investment program so your team can focus on its mission. We implement your program within the parameters of your Investment Policy Statement (IPS), drawing on the same disciplined, evidence-based approach we apply across the firm.
Mandates can be structured as discretionary or non-discretionary, as set out in your Investment Advisory Agreement. Under a discretionary mandate, we select, retain, and replace managers, set and adjust allocation, and execute rebalancing within your IPS. Under a non-discretionary mandate, we provide recommendations to your investment committee, board, or designated fiduciary, and you retain final authority over each decision.
Where appropriate, Rubric may engage sub-advisors to manage all or a portion of an OCIO client's assets.
OCIO mandates are designed for institutions that need professional investment oversight without an in-house investment team.
End-to-end management of your investment program, from policy design through ongoing oversight and reporting.
We develop and continuously review your IPS so that objectives, constraints, and spending needs are clearly defined and consistently applied.
Strategic and tactical allocation aligned to your goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance — with disciplined rebalancing.
Sourcing, selecting, monitoring, and replacing investment managers, with investment and operational due diligence on managers and vehicles.
Portfolios built across separately managed accounts, mutual funds, and ETFs — and, where appropriate and available to qualified clients or qualified purchasers, private investment vehicles.
Periodic performance, risk, and attribution reporting plus preparation and support for investment committee and board meetings.
Coordination with your qualified custodian and other service providers, keeping the program running smoothly day to day.
